Home / 21st Century Community Learning Center Program

The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) is to provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for students. The program helps students meet state and local standards in core academic subjects such as reading, math, and science. The 21st Century offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs, and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children. Students with the most critical risk factors and barriers to academic achievement receive priority enrollment, as specified in the school’s grant application.

The 21st Century Program focuses on:

  • Remedial education activities and academic enrichment learning programs, including those which provide additional assistance to students.
  • Mathematics and science education activities tied into project based learning.
  • Arts and music education activities as part of our enrichment programs.
  • Programs that provide after-school activities for limited English proficient (LEP) students and recreational activities, along with programs that promote parental involvement and family literacy.

Additional Information:

  • The 21st century program targets students from Kindergarten through 8th
  • The 21st Century Afterschool program is free to students and families.
  • As required by the 21st CCLC, students will complete pre- and post-assessments to monitor their progress every week.
